Site Preparation Tips
Although it is your responsibility to properly prepare your site for construction, we’re here to offer our help and recommendations.
- Ensure that all stumps, tree branches, fences, or other objects are cleared from the space the building will be on.
- Obtain the appropriate building permits depending on if your county requires them. For instance, 12 x 28 and 12 x 32 barns need special leveling preparations, and we suggest that you place and level crushed stone to ready the area for setting the barn.
- Properly measure the area to ensure your building will fit. We require a minimum of 14 feet for 12-foot-wide barns and 12 feet for 10-foot-wide barns due to the eave overhang.
- Don’t enclose the bottom of your shed. We make this recommendation so that air can flow freely under the barn and keep the boards free of moisture.
- Contact our team of professionals if you have any questions about site preparation to ensure an easy delivery.
